The Watcher's Guild: Sweet Nephilim Prologue Part 4

Hey all,

Happy Holidays!  I hope you're enjoying this fun, fantasy FREE READ.  Call it a Christmas treat for all my readers, it's only going to get better!  So enjoy!!!!

The Watcher's Guild: Sweet Nephilim

And the Nephilim were caught in the middle.  They knew nothing of their angelic origins.  They thought they were normal people going about their lives.  In some cases, the child’s mother might know something was strange about the male who’d impregnated her, but more often, the Fallen looked and acted like a normal man.  One who disappeared soon after the mating.  In each Nephilim’s life, their true father was nowhere to be seen.
When their powers emerged, they were always frightened and confused.  They had abilities they didn’t understand. Reading minds, speaking other languages and seeing the future were just some of what a Nephilim could do.  But, as soon as they used these new powers—most often involuntarily—both good and evil became aware of them.  And suddenly, without any real choice of their own, they were thrust into the war.
More millennia passed, and fewer Nephilim were born.  Now, the battles for their souls were even more important as Watcher and Demon Spawn alike tried to make sure they were the ones to discover these newest of the angelic beings.
It was in the middle of one of these skirmishes, in the great city of Philadelphia, that everything changed.  A streak of light filled the sky as a Nephilim used power for the very first time.  Evil rubbed its hands in glee, and Good drew its sword of righteousness.  Demon Spawn and Watcher leapt into action.
And so the story begins...
